Introduction to Art Journalling

Through art journalling, we can learn to see and record our lives as works of art. We can explore the arts as a means of prayer and encountering the Holy. When words just can’t be found, the creative process has a way of revealing hidden truths and new possibilities we were unable to express verbally.

Praying with the Senses

There are many different ways to pray and to hear God speaking to us. We can find God in all things because God meets us where we are, in the present moment, and the five senses are five entry points for God’s love to become known to us.

Names

Names are important and are the first words we learn. When we speak to God by name our relationship deepens. Just as our names for God are important in our relationship with God, so are God’s names for us.

The Labyrinth

Our Surprising God

Sometimes we pray for something, and get something we didn’t ask for at all. It could even be unwelcome In this way, our surprising God brings us spiritual growth, our lives are opened out and we are made new, closer to God.
